7. We arrive by aeroplane, how to get to the apartment and back?

The airport Praha – Ruzyně is situated approx. 12 km from the Prague´s centre. You can travel by taxi (passenger car or mini-bus) or use the urban transport.

The price of taxi service when going from the airport to the street Železná 12 is between 500,00 up to 600,00 CZK.

Travelling by the urban transport is cheaper but less comfortable and more complicated, usually it takes no more than 45 minutes. First of all, you have to buy the ticket (adult person: 26,00 CZK for the time of 75 minutes, large luggage 13,00 CZK). Thirty meters directly in front of the Airport terminal you find the bus station called Terminál 1. The bus lines 119 or AE take you near the subway station Dejvická. For connection we recommend the use of electronic time table system IDOS. The Terminál 1 is the entrance station, stations Můstek or Staroměstská are the exit stations. The apartment are 4 minutes of walk from th from the subway station Můstek, 6 minutes from the station Staroměstská.

8. We go by car, how to get to the apartment and how to park?

8.1 Shortly

The apartments are situated in the pedestrian zone in the Prague´s centre for which several limits are valid and thus you can get to the apartment by car, unload or load the luggage but you can not park here. You can find your way in the Prague´s map. Go by the Vltava riverside, at the National theatre turn in the street Národní, Perlová, Rytířská and at the end of the street Rytířská you find the pedestrian zone created by the street Železná. In the middle of the street Železná 12 you find the apartments (in front of the entry there is the Beneton shop).

The parking in the streets of the historic Prague´s centre is not easy, we recommend to park at the guarded parking places of Prague 1 or park for free outside the Prague and use the subway or other transport means. You can also park at places and pay at the parking machines but such places are usually always equipped. They are free during the Friday afternoon, Saturdays and Sundays. If necessary you can park on the road with blue strip for a short time (maximum 30 minutes. These parking places are reserved for the habitants with special paid card.

8.2 Details
8.2.1 The nearest parking place

The nearest underground parking place is at the square of Jan Palach in Prague, approx. 500m from the apartment. You can easily find it, follow the direction of Centrum and when you see the Prague´s castle you are near the target. The castle is at the hill over Vltave river and the parking place is directly in front of the castle across the river.

After you have parked (do not forget to take the parking card), go 200 metres of street Kaprova to the square Staroměstské and one of its street is the street Železná, here you can find us. The parking rate is 50,00 CZK/hr or 600,00 CZK per day. The other and cheaper options of parking exist also.

8.2.2 Parking machines

You can park directly in the streets of Prague, you pay at the parking machines, but these places are usually equipped during the working days between 10-19 hrs. If you are lucky you buy the parking card and leave it visible under your car glass. From 20:00 pm till 8:00 am, on Saturdays and Sundays the parking is for free.

8.2.3 Reserved places of habitants of Prague 1

During the working days, you can find only some free parking places on the road designed by the blue strip. This means that it is reserved for the habitants who have the special card. You can park here only for 5 minute, when this limit is exceeded you can be penalized by the police or your car can be immobilized by the wheel lock (used by the police) for which removal you have to pay 300,00 – 600,00 CZK.

8.2.4 Parking outside the centre

Parking outside the Prague is another option, preferably near the subway stations. The parking here is cheaper and usually for free. You can go easily to the centre by metro at the price 18,00 – 26,00 CZK.

The urban transport offers buses as well as tramways, at the same price as for the subway, having more of stations but being slower compared to the metro. If you park in the street, do not leave the radio or any valuable objects visible in the car.
